5 Bands That Will Improve Your Life

Your free time is precious. For the most part, many people have to run errands, exercise or complete other monotonous tasks during this time. Music is one of the few things that can transform what would be boring tasks into something more enjoyable. Today I'm bringing you five bands you need to listen to which will combat the monotony of your daily tasks.

 The 1975

This four piece band are rapidly becoming one of the most popular bands to come out of England. Their debut eponymous album went straight to number one and they finished a sell out 15 month world tour in January. The a fore mentioned album is reminiscent of a John Hughes movie soundtrack. White indie rock, 80's synth and modern pop can all be found in one album. Their lyricism is out of this world and their lyrics will stay with you forever. If you enjoy their music I'd also recommend watching the lead singer, guitarist and crazily intelligent Matty Healy in interview.

 Arctic Monkeys

Fashion icon Alexa Chung once dated this bands front man Alex Turner. If you like indie with phenomenal bass lines this is the band for you. Alex's writing is something that can't be matched. Their confidence and leather jacket clad aesthetic just adds to their appeal. AM is their most recent album and once again it reached number one. I recommend Red Lights Indicate Doors Are Secure, from the album Whatever People Say I Am That's What I'm Not, and Do I Wanna Know from AM.

They reached the height of their success in the 70's but time hasn't aged Blondie's music whatsoever. They took a hiatus from 1982 until 1997 and continue to tour today. If you're brand new to Blondie, there's ten albums worth of music to catch up on. Their first UK number one single "Heart of Glass" was voted as their most popular song despite releasing albums as recently as 2014.

My Chemical Romance

A punk/ emo-rock band from New Jersey which has changed the image of modern punk music, if you like it loud but with lyricism which could make you cry then you need to listen to this band. Their third album Welcome To the Black Parade propelled MCR to the forefront of rock music. They may have broke up two years ago but the army of fans behind MCR are still growing strong which is a true testament to the quality and power of their music.

The Vaccines

I could sum up this band in two words - Indie Rock. But I'll give you some more info just for your own music knowledge. This band rose to fame after they opened for acts like Muse, Arcade Fire, The Rolling Stones and the Arctic Monkeys to just name a few. Some compare them to the Ramones, presumably for their light but strangely heavy sound. Lyrics which relate to teenage and adults alike this is a band for everyone. Their new album English Graffiti will be released in late May.

I hope you liked this and let me know what you think of these bands when you check them out!
