Mocha 'Frappuccino' Shake

So, in addition to being a food addict, I'm also a serious coffee lover. Before beginning my weight-loss journey, I would visit Starbucks on a daily basis. Sometimes even twice a day. So when I started eating healthier, I really wanted to try some smoothies, but, even though I love fruit, the ones I tried were either too sweet, not sweet enough, not smooth enough or just not nice. This is something I've adapted from a recipe on pinterest, and I have it almost every morning. I think it tastes just as good as a mocha frappucino does, and it's miles better for you. It's also dairy free!

Mocha Frappucino Shake

SERVES 1 @ 2 PRO POINTS

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of cold coffee (I make mine the night before)
  • 1 teaspoon of agave nectar (use honey if you don't have any)
  • 10g cocoa powder
  • vanilla extract (to taste)
  • 1 frozen banana
  • ice cubes

Method

  • Stick all of the ingredients into a blender, and blend! Add a little water if it's too thick.

You can substitute the vanilla for any other flavour. I've tried coconut and orange so far and they're both yummy too!

I honestly can't tell you enough how much I love this recipe.

I invested in an ActiBlend in September (a birthday gift to myself!) and I've just had to replace it (I lost the receipt so I couldn't get a replacement unfortunately), and I've used it almost every day. Its so handy, especially as there's no washing up afterwards! Its similar to a nutribullet as far as I can tell, and I think they're worth the investment.

I'd like to try some green smoothies, but I'm yet to find a combination I like as much as this one! Hopefully I'll come up with one in the near future!

Let me know if you make this, and what you think!
